At Sound Relief Tinnitus & Hearing Center in Highlands Ranch, Dr. Megan Read, Au.D., CH-TM, Dr. Kelli Whitley, Au.D., CH-TM, and Dr. Abbey Poe, Au.D., CCC-A, CH-TM, offer specialized care for tinnitus, sound hypersensitivity, and hearing loss. Under the mentorship of founder Dr. Julie Prutsman, Au.D., CH-TM, the team applies evidence-based evaluation and treatment approaches for complex sound-related conditions. Highlands Ranch uses The Sound Relief Method, a structured protocol integrating personalized sound therapy, TRT principles, and counseling strategies. Comprehensive and thorough hearing evaluations and individualized technology recommendations are also provided.

Megan earned her B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Abilene Christian University. She worked in elementary education as both an interpreter in a deaf education classroom and as a speech pathology assistant. Following this, Dr. Read obtained her Doctorate of Audiology degree from the University of Colorado. Prior to joining the Sound Relief team, Dr. Read worked in a neurotology practice for where she received specialized training in the management of tinnitus and sound sensitivity disorders under Dr. Pawel Jastreboff, Ph.D., Sc.D. Megan loves both the art and science of tinnitus treatment and truly enjoys helping patients in their unique hearing health journey. Her desire has always been to educate and empower her patients by working together to maximize access to communication. Outside of work, Megan enjoys exploring her creative side and trying new recipes. She also loves walking the many trails in Highlands Ranch with her husband, their three children, and two dogs.

Born and raised in Texas, Kelli Whitley earned her bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock, Texas, and her Doctorate of Audiology from Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans, LA. Kelli Whitley is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by hearing loss and tinnitus. With expertise in diagnostic assessments, personalized treatment plans, and the latest audiological technology, she is committed to providing compassionate care and empowering patients to achieve better hearing health and enhanced quality of life. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her cat, Pepper. She loves traveling to and exploring new places and trying new food (she does miss Cajun food). She also loves watching sports and cheering on her favorite teams: the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Dr. Abbey Poe earned her Bachelor of Arts and Doctorate of Audiology degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park. She takes pride in supporting patients throughout their hearing healthcare and tinnitus management journeys by providing tailored recommendations aligned with their individual needs and lifestyles. In her free time, Dr. Poe enjoys spending time outdoors, visiting new coffee shops, and watching sports—go, Terps!

Dr. Julie Prutsman is a third-generation audiologist and the owner and founder of Sound Relief Hearing Center. Julie earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Marietta College and her master’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from the University of Colorado. She then went on to get her doctoral degree in audiology from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry’s School of Audiology. Dr. Julie is also a member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology, the American Academy of Audiology, the International Hearing Society, and the American Tinnitus Association. Julie grew up in Highlands Ranch, Colorado where she and her husband, Patrick, opened the first Sound Relief Hearing Center location. They now have two children. In her free time, she loves to read, travel, ski, and spend time with family.

Amanda La Voy is the Audiology Assistant and Team Lead for our “South” Colorado offices (Highlands Ranch, Centennial, and Golden). Amanda was born and raised in Northern California but has called Colorado home since the spring of 2018. Amanda first joined our team as the Patient Care Coordinator in our Highlands Ranch office and felt the call to expand her audiological knowledge to further help our patients. She’s currently taking classes at Nova Southeastern University to complete her audiology assistant certification. When not in the office Amanda spends her free time exploring Colorado with her fiancé, Adam, and son, Jonas. If you’ve been seen in Highlands Ranch, you’ll know Amanda is always running around. She’s currently in pursuit of completing the 6 World Major Marathon races (London, Berlin, Tokyo, Chicago, Boston, and New York). She’s currently received two of her six stars for the Majors.
